We just wanted to thank everyone for their support, prayers, food and attendance at Brenda's memorial service. Several of you who have been dedicated readers have asked that we keep the blog going. We will try to continue this and keep you updated on how the family is doing. There is a big hole in all of our hearts and it is definetly going to take time to heal if it ever does. Thank you again for everything.

Candle Lighting

Hello-

O.k everyone here's the deal...We are changing our minds and we would like to hold a candle lighting ceremony Sunday night at the gazebo in Sundance. The same gazebo that Brenda's "walking for the pink tigers" walk started. That was so special to Brenda, and Chicken thought it would be the perfect place for anyone who wanted to join us, to meet up, listen to Hannah's beautiful voice sing a song for Brenda and light the candles together. We of course will be lighting the candles at 7:00 p.m. so you can show up whenever you would like just as long as we light the candles together at 7. Let us know what you think and spread the word! LETS LIGHT UP SUNDANCE!!

Light A Candle For Brenda

Hello All-

It is Leigh again and we wanted to inform you all about a website called www.compassionatefriends.org. It is a website that my mom found that is for people who have lost a child at any age for any reason. Each year they hold a candle lighting ceremony for those children, and this year it is on Saturday Dec. 14th at 7:00 p.m. We would like to hold one for Brenda. After discussing it with Chicken we decided that it would be so awesome if you could all light a candle at your own home to honor Brenda and say a prayer for her all at the same time which is 7:00p.m. on the 14th. We thought about holding a candle lighting ceremony ourselves but with organizing everything else, there just isn't enough time:) This is such a neat thing and just gives us one more opportunity to honor such an amazing person who we all miss so much. Let us know what you think and mark it on your calendars!!

Memorial Service

Hello All-

This is Leigh (Kirk's Wife) and it is my turn to break into the blog. We wanted to inform you all about Brenda's memorial service on Tuesday the 16th of December in Sundance. Time and place will be determined later on as we are still working on the details. The delay is getting everything taken care of down here in Denver so that we can bring Brenda home where she belongs. Thank you again for all of your prayers and faithful blogging! It meant the world to Brenda and means so much to the family. Details will be posted later so stay tuned!

Sis went to see GOD today!

OUR Sissy passed away tonight December 5th at 9:55 p.m. She went real peaceful and even opened her eyes and held peoples hands in the last moments. We will miss her dearly. Sis is coming back to Crook County where she belongs. Let's celebrate the time that we had with her!

Hi Friends and Family! Sis is in unconscious state, she is still breathing and fighting away. She really struggled with the amount of infection and as we found out later the bug that she had in her gut had got into her blood. Realistically we are not sure she will make it to the morning. But this is Sis and we serve an amazing and an awesome God. The Dr.'s have been great, she is being medicated so she shouldn't be in pain and we are confident in that when we hear her breathe. We will keep you posted and we hope to have better news in the morning. Pray until there isn't any skin on your knees. Hug who's dearest to you and we feel your support all the way down here!!!

P.S. WE have the "PILL" and will receive the first one tonight at 9:00 p.m. and then every 12 hours for 14 days. Please PRAY as you have never prayed before as she has run out of options , I know for the person she is and the person she has always been God will hear our prayers and send her miracle this I just have to believe. They are going to give her something tonight to help her sleep and rest as she has thrashed around last night and all day today,this afternoon she ended up pulling out her IV. I see noway for her to start healing with no rest or peace. Until tomorrow Love to all Chick and Crew

Am running late today as there has been no up and working computers until now and this is my second attempt as I got almost done and it kicked me out, so here we go once more. This has been a "Good Day" "Bad DAY" The good is that they found the bug that's causing this and put a name to him , knew the treatment that will help and her fever stayed down, Bad is she is so weak and very confused, I hope as the meds. keep killing the bugs she will come back around with at least the stenght she had before this step back. Am cutting this short as I have had to have Hannah find where this second one went to and need to get back to see how she is doing, fine I am sure, Big Bro is with her. To all that count on the blog to keep informed I would like you to know that they have successfully got her fever down and tonight she even thought she would like something little to eat. She still looks mighty miserable but we have a major start for her to start healing again, nothing else is acceptable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Jeff is sitting with her and I was only suppose to be going to the rest room, but checked the blog and wanted all you faithful friends and family to know it is looking up.. THANK YOU everyone for always being there for us, it is one thing makes the journey bearable when it gets extra tough going. Will update again as soon as we know anything. Our Thankful Thanksgiving!!

I thought I would break in and post some photos of our awesome Thanksgiving together. We had a wonderful meal at Grandma Willey's on Thanksgiving with over 40 people there!!! It was amazing. Brenda was glowing, she looked great and that twinkle was in her eyes:) We had 13 people sleeping at Grandma Chicken's house, something we have all dreamed of and talked about for a few years... just wait until we all add a few more kids on, it's wonderful to be in a house full of love, siblings, babies and three year olds and great to see Brenda at home too! Jakob and Peyton were big helpers in the kitchen, anytime we started to mix something they wanted to help, and they were great helpers. Thanks to Christi Marchant for taking time out of her schedule to take an awesome family photo, we can't wait to see the pics!!! A few of us came down with the flu bug when we got home, so far Kayla, Jeff, Coy, and myself got hit by it, yuck! We hope no one else gets it!! Thanks everyone for checking in and send up some big prayers for our girl today, as I know people are!

The trip back so far has not been anything we had hoped for. She had her appointment Mon. morn, was running a temp so started her on a NEW antibiotic,she rested most all day . Getting kinda mixed up on the times as we haven't been to bed so it was Tues. she was very tired , wanted Nothing to eat, and couldn't come up with any extra energy, although we took her for a short walk, she had to stop a few times to rest up,just NOT BRENDA. We were calling it a day, I leaned over to give her a goodnight kiss and she was burning up, took her temp.104.4 got Brian and we put cold rags and ice on her but the temp was not going down so we are back in hospital bone marrow north room 3402 the room she received her transplant in. It seems as though she has a blood infection so are now removing her "pic" line that they had just put in last wens. when they removed her port thinking she had a staff in that line.... She is a pretty sick little gal, I hope they find the cause and get her on the right meds. As of yet we haven't received the PILL alittle slow due to holidays is the story we hear. Will be able to update you as long as we are here. Until later Love to all Chick

Friends and Family
Can't believe it is time to head out again, it has been a whirl wind visit. Today I hope we didn't completely wear her down as she for sure had a big day. Was at the court house lawn by 9:30 to have a family picture as everyone was home at the same time , didn't take long in the wind and snow so hope we got at least a few good ones. Her next venture was a brunch at Connie's. She then came home to run her fusions through this giving her a chance to have a nice long nap and kinda rest up alittle. She had some company and is now ready to call it a day, she will go up to hospital in the morn. and get platelets and then I guess we will be on our way to Denver once again, I can only hope this will be what we have waited and prayed for. will do my best to keep you in the know, but sissy will be back and on it soon, you can just bet on it, tonight she has some sparkle back and even enjoyed her meal which was a first since she got home. HANG WITH US just as you have through it all,you could say having all of you behind her is a SHOT IN THE ARM that brings her alot of comfort and "will" to keep struggling on. Even as her mother she truly never ceases to amaze me . Hopefully mon. we will be able breath easier and she will be receiving her miracle, we can only PRAY.......Until later........Love to all Chick..

Dear friends and family.
Hoping everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, we sure did, went to grandma's for an ole time family gathering Aunts, Uncles, cousins,friends and of course grandma keeping us all in line. Brenda's wish was to come home and have her family together so grateful we could make it happen, we had alot of people on board getting me all put together so things would be ready for her arrival "THANKS TO ALL FOR YOUR LABOR OF LOVE"I could not have got it all done with out you. Brenda had an awesome day , she hadn't seen grandma or most all the other family since we left in Aug. for the transplant. Today she is totally wore out. She had to go up here to the hospital for platelets and that is about all the energy she could muster, hopefully tomorrow she will feel rested back up alittle. The time home is going by so fast she will have to leave on Sun. as she has an appointment Mon.A.M. They have done some fancy and fast leg work and approved her to try a new drug (a pill) we are not schooled on it yet but will be informed on Mon.at her app. I just have to believe that this will be the miracle we have all been praying for. Thanks to everyone for your love and support it gets us tho . Just wanted to touch base with everyone until sissy feels up to it herself........AND SHE WILL. Love to all Chick

HI EVERYONE,

I DONT KNOW HOW TO SAY THIS BUT AT THIS POINT THE CANCER IS BACK AND THERE IS NOT ALOT THAT CAN BE DONE. I WOULD RATHER QUALITY THEN QUANITY AT THIS TIME. I HAD A BONE MARROW THIS AFTERNOON THAT WILL TELL IF ALL THE WHITE CELLS ARE CANCER BUT WE KNOW IT IT FOR SURE BACK AND GROWING FAST. TOMORROW WE WILL HAVE OUR "FINAL DECISION" TALK AND MAY BE HEADED HOME. I AM TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE HOSPITAL TONITE BUT I AM ALSO HAVING A SPINAL TAP BEFORE I LEAVE.

GOOD SUNDAY MORNING TO YOU,

WE HAVE STARTED OUT RUNNING TODAY, I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A QUIET DAY BUT HAS ALREADY PROVEN ME WRONG. HAD TO HAVE MORE PLATELETS AT 5 THIS AM AND HAD A REAL CHATTY NURSE THAT OBVIOUSLY WANTED ME TO HELP KEEP HER AWAKE UNTIL 7 SO SHE HUNG OUT WHILE THE PLATELETS RAN. FOLLOWED BY THE GUY DOING VITALS AT 7:30, KEEPING IN MIND I HAD JUST TAKEN 2 TYLENOL AND 1 BENADRYL BEFORE MY PLATELETS SO I WAS LOOKING FOREWARD TO SLEEPING THEM OFF. FINALLY GAVE IT UP AT 7;30, 7;45 GOT A CALL FROM JEFF HE WAS OUTSIDE THE HOSPITAL READY TO COME AND SEE ME SO WE GRABBED SOME CEREAL, MILK AND JUICE, CAME BACK TO THE ROOM AND HAD BREAKFAST. HE HAD TO LEAVE BY 10 SO HE COULD GET HOME TO TEND THE BOYS WHILE TINA WENT TO THE BRONCO GAME. I AM NOW EXPECTING COYS FAMILY, THEY WERE STOPPING BY AFTER CHURCH. SO IT LOOKS LIKE OUR AFTERNOON MIGHT BE QUIET FOR WATCHING THE GAME. THEN TOMORROW I HOPE TO BUST OUT OF PSL JAIL ONCE AGAIN.

YESTERDAY- 5AM HAD PLATELETS, SOME LIQUID BREAKFAST, THEY DROPPED MY STEROID TO 20 MG,DR WANTS ANOTHER SPINAL TAP BEFORE I LEAVE, SEEMS TO THINK CANCER HAD GOTTEN INTO THERE BUT WASNT SURE HE HAD READ THE RIGHT CHART. HAD ANOTHER X-RAY OF THE STOMACH, THE SURGEON WAS IN LATER SAID ALL LOOKED GOOD. THE DOCTOR ALSO THOUGHT THINGS WERE GOING WELL AND THAT I COULD START A BLAND DIET. THEY ARE STILL DOING ALOT OF BLOOD CULTURES TO MAKE SURE IF I HAVE A BUG THAT THEY ARE TREATING THE RIGHT ONE.I CANT BELEIVE THE ANTIBIOTICS THAT CAN ACTUALLY CAUSE THE INFECTION.ITS ALL BEYOND ME.OTHER THAN THAT I THINK I AM GOOD.

I HOPE I WILL BE ABLE TO STAY IN GOOD TOUCH FOR THE REST OF THE WEEK.HOPE YOU HAD A GREAT WEEKEND. LOVE YOU!!!!BRENDA AND FAMILY

HELLO AGAIN, MY DAY HAS CONTINUED TO BE BUSY WITH POKING AND PRODDING. I AM NOW GETTING ANOTHER UNIT OF PLATELETS, THEY WANT TO BE SURE MY BLOOD AND PLATELET LEVELS ARE GOOD AND STABLE. THE SURGEON WAS IN SAID THINGS LOOK GOOD HE WOULD NOT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING,YEA! THE DOC CAME IN WAS GOING TO LET ME GO TOMORROW IF I COULD GET THE TUBE OUT OF MY NOSE, THEN BRIAN MENTIONED TO HIM THAT I HAD A COUPLE OF BIG BLOODY BOWLS AND THAT CHANGED HIS MIND, SO THEY ARE WATCHING FOR THAT ALSO. I HAD X-RAYS OF THE STOMACH THAT TOLD THEM THINGS WERE UN KINKED.THE PHYSICAL THERAPIST WAS IN AND INSISTED ON SEEING ME WALK, SO I SPUN HER AROUND THE NURSES STATION A COUPLE OF TIMES AND SHE SAID WE COULD BE DONE, SHE WAS CONVINCED THAT I WOULD BE FINE ON MY OWN. THEN BRIAN AND I MADE MORE LAPS LATER. LETS SEE DID I MISS ANYTHING?OH HOW COULD I FORGET I JUST GOT THE TUBE OUT OF MY NOSE IT IS HEAVEN, I'M STILL ON CLEAR FLUIDS. MY CHAPLIN FRIEND NORA STOPPED BY, ALSO JANE WOOD CAME TO SEE US, THEY ARE ALWAYS A RAY OF SUNSHINE.

I HOPE TONIGHT IS UNEVENTFUL AND THERE WILL BE LOTS OF SLEEPING GOING ON. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES INCASE YOU NEED TO TAKE CARE OF ME!!! LOVE YOU ALL. BRENDA AND CLAN

GOOD MORNING THE LOST IS FOUND. I MADE IT THU THE NITE, I AM WAITING FOR X-RAYS THEN TO SEE THE DOC. I AM REALLY HOPING THAT I GET THIS TUBE OUT OUT OF MY NOSE TODAY. THEY ARE GOING TO MOVE ME BACK DOWN TO BONE MARROW SOUTH, THEY CAN TAKE BETTER CARE OF ME THERE. HOPEFULLY THING WILL BE SETTLING DOWN AND I WONT NEED ALL THAT CARE. I WAS LOSING ALOT OF BLOOD AT BOTH ENDS LAST NITE SO THIS AM I HAVE HAD 4 UNITS OF BLOOD AND 1 PLATELET.THEY HAVE BEEN DOING ALOT OF BLOOD TESTS.I ALSO SEE A SURGEON AGAIN TODAY, HE WAS THE ONE THAT DECIDE TO RUN THE TUBE DOWN TO MY STOMACH LAST NITE.

MY FRIEND KATHY CALLED LAST NIGHT AND HER CANCER IS BACK, SHE IS COMING IN TODAY TO START MORE TREATMENT. SHE NEVER HAS BEEN ABLE TO GROW RED BLOOD CELLS.

I AM IN THE HOSPITAL AND HAVE THE COMPUTER SO HOPEFULLY I WILL BE ABLE TO KEEP IN TOUCH. THANKS AGAIN TO ALL OF MY FOLLOWERS,LOVE YOU LOTS BRENDA AND FAMILY

Will send a little update to all as I have recieved enough phone calls to know many are wondering about Brenda as she hasn't blogged in a couple of days. This afternoon she was admitted to the hospital with some intestional problems, it isn't twisted but bent causing an obstruction and making her very uncomfortable,so they ran tubes down her nose and throat and are getting rid of all the build up unable to pass through.... Am very thankful she was that close to the hospital, Coy and Brian have been with her ...Talked to her tonight and she thinks she feels better already..She is such a little soilder.... am sure she will be up and at it tomorrow, if not I'll drop a line to you as it means so much to hear from all of you and get that little piece of HOME. Thanks to everyone for remembering her and the Love and Support that has made this journey easier knowing "SHE MATTERS" and " SHE'S LOVED".Love to all Chick

HELLO,

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY HERE IN COLO. WE HAVE NOT BEEN OUT ENJOYING IT LIKE WE SHOULD, TODAY WAS MY REST DAY. I DIDNT GET HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL FROM GETTING BLOOD AND PLATELETS UNTIL 6:00, BRIAN AND JEFF BOTH GOT THERE AT 4:00 SO JEFF GAVE US A RIDE HOME. WE WERE JUST WALKING UP THE STEPS AND FAMILY NITE WAS GOING ON SO BRIAN AND JEFF WENT AND GOT US A PLATE AND WE HAD SUPPER SO THAT WORKED OUT REALLY WELL. I WAS BEAT AND CALLED IT A NITE EARLY. MUCH BETTER THIS AM HAD A LITTLE FEVER BUT STILL TRYING TO GET HYDRATED. A HOME HEATH NURSE CAME BY TO DRAW SOME BLOOD TO MAKE SURE THE LEVEL OF ANITIOTIC I AM TAKING IS THE CORRECT ONE. MORE SLEEP, THEN RON AND PHYLLIS WATSON STOPPED BY TO SEE US, SO NICE TO SEE THEM.WE NEED TO GET OUTSIDE FOR A LITTLE WALK BEFORE DARK.

HELLO,

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL DAY HERE,I GOT UP EARLY TO START MY IV SO THAT COULD BE DONE BEFORE GOING TO CLINCIC.THEY DREW BLOOD, TOOK BLOOK CULTURES AND RAN A RINSE IN MY NOSE TO MAKE SURE I DONT HAVE INFECTION IN THE SINUS DEPARTMENT,EVERYTHING IS SO DRY THAT I THINK MY SINUSUS ARE DRIED OUT.THEY ARE LOOKING AT DECREASING MY STERIOD AGAIN ON WED BUT PUT ME BACK ON A SMALL DOSE OF BLOOD PRESSURE MEDS.NO RESULTS ON THE SPINAL TAP YET. I AM NOW AT THE HOSPITAL GETTING BLOOD AND PLATELETS.WADE AND STACI JUST STOPPED BY TO SEE ME,SHE IS DOING REALLY WELL. ALSO SAW DEBBIE AND GUS AT THE CLINIC SHE GOT OUT ON FRIDAY AND LOOKS GREAT. THE LAST I KNEW KATHY WAS DOING WELL OTHER THEN SHE COULDNT PRODUCE RED BLOOD CELLS.

BARB AND VICKIE GOT GONE ABOUT 1:30 AND BRIAN IS ON HIS WAY SO CHANGING OF THE GUARDS WILL BE TAKING PLACE. I AM SO LUCKY TO HAVE SUCH LOVING AND CARING PEOPLE IN MY LIFE. WE HAD A BLAST THIS WEEKEND, THEY SPOILED ME ROTTEN, AND I LOVED IT. THANKS GIRLS, MISS YA ALREADY.

WE WERE ON A MISSION TO EXCHANGE SOME PANTS AND ENDED UP AT COYS HAD TO SHOW THE LUKE OFF. WE THEN MADE OUR WAY HOME STARTED SOME LAUNDRY, PUT OUR CHICKEN IN TO COOK AND THEN WENT FOR A LITTLE WALK. BARB JUST GOT DONE POLISHING MY TOENAILS AND THERE WILL BE A FOOT RUB LATER.BETWEEN HER AND VICKIE I AM GETTING VERY SPOILED . WE WILL BE HAVING SOME SUPPER THEN TIME FOR SOME TV WATCHING. WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY WE HAD THE SUN WAS SHINNING BRIGHTLY ALL DAY. SLEPT IN TIL 7, ATE BREAKFAST, STARTED IV'S AND TOOK A NAP WHILE THE IV'S RAN. HEADED DOWN TO 16TH STREET MALL FOR MORE FOOD,FUN AND SHOPPING. OH YEA CANT FORGET THE EXERCISE WE HAD TO DO FOR EATING CHEESECAKE,GOT ABOUT 5.5 MILES IN TODAY BETWEEN DOWN TOWN AND AROUND TARGET.SINCE WE SAVED SOME FOR DESSERT!!! W THEE ARE GETTING READY TO EAT SOME SUPPER AND WATCH A MOVIE.

WE WOKE UP TO A LITTLE SKIFT OF SNOW AND WIND BLOWING A LITTLE BUT WE DECIDED TO WALK TO CLINIC ANYWAY. NO NEWS AT CLINIC. BY THE TIME WE HEADED BACK THE SNOW HAD STOPPED AND NOW THE SUN IS SHINNING. WE HAVE HAD A LAZY MORNING, GETTING READY FOR SOME LUNCH THEN MAYBE GO FOR A DRIVE OR SOMETHING. I THINK WE ARE SAVING DOWN TOWN FOR TOMORROW.

HI FROM COLO,

ITS BEEN A NICE SUNNY DAY HERE, GETTING A LITTLE WINDY, SUPPOSE TO SNOW TOMORROW. OUR WALK TO THE CLINIC AT 6:45 WAS BEAUTIFUL. HAD THE SPINAL TAP AND LIVED THRU IT. SHOULD KNOW THE RESULTS NEXT WEEK. BARB MET WALKED UP AND MET US, IT WAS SO NICE WE TOOK A THE LONG WAY HOME. WE CONVINCED BRIAN TO GO HOME FOR A FEW DAYS WHILE BARB AND VICKIE ARE HERE TO BABYSIT ME. HE LEFT AT 10:00 AND WE HEADED STRAIGHT FOR TARGET.HAHAHA WE EVEN STOPPED BY PAYLESS AND GOT ME SOME BOOTS INCASE IT SNOWS IN THE AM SO WE CAN GET TO CLINIC. GOOD AFTERNOON,

GOT HOME LAST NITE FROM THE HOSPITAL AFTER TREATMENT, HAD SOME SUPPER AND LAID AROUND. HAD TO STAY UP TIL 10:OO TO START NEW IV ANITBIOTIC FOR THE STAPH SO DECIDED TO TAKE MY TEMP AND IT WAS 100.8 FINALLY GOT BRAVE AND TOLD BRIAN, NEEDLESS TO SAY THINGS STARTED HAPPENING. I WAS ONE BIG ICE PACK IN A MATTER OF MINUTES,HAD THE FEVER DOWN BY 12:00 AND OFF TO BED WE WENT.

THIS AM WENT TO CLINIC, MY NUMBERS ARE STARTING TO COME UP JUST IN TIME TO KNOCK THEM DOWN AGAIN. MY RASH IS SOOOO MUCH BETTER AND THEY WENT DOWN ON THE STEROID ANOTHER 10 MG. I GO TO THE HOSPITAL AT 3:30 FOR PLATELETS TO PREPARE FOR MY SPINAL TAP TOMORROW.

IT WAS NICE THAT MOM, KAYLA,COY, HANNAH AND LUKE COULD JOIN US FOR FAMILY NITE LAST NITE.

LETS FINISH FRIDAY- BRIAN AND I WENT TO LATE APPOINTMENT THEN HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL FOR PLATELETS. THEY HAVE MOVED ALL MY APPOINTMENTS BACK A DAY SO TOMORROW I HAVE THE TREATMENT AND AS OF THIS AM THEY STILL DIDNT HAVE THE MED TO GIVE ME SO WE DEFINETLY DO NOT HAVE A TIME. THEN THEY HAD TO RESCHEDULE THE SPINAL FOR THURSDAY. I GUESS I LIKE TO RIDE THE MERRY'GO'ROUND. BACK TO FRI- KIRKS AND COYS MET US BACK AT THE APT AFTER THE APPT AND WE ALL WENT OUT TO SUPPER.

SAT- BRIAN AND I LOADED UP AND HEADED TO COY AND HANNAHS TO SPEND TIME WITH EVERYONE. THAT EVENING WE ALL WENT TO JEFF AND TINAS WHERE MOM AND KAYLA JOINED US. WE ATE TACOS, PLAYED WITH BABIES AND PLAYED GAMES, THEN HAD A BIG SLEEP OVER.
SUN-KIRKS LEFT AROUND NOON THEN US AND COYS SHORTLY AFTER. WE WENT TO THE PARK A PUT ON A FEW MILES. THEN WE GOT TO DO BRIANS MOST FAVORITE THING, OUR WEEKLY SHOPPING!!!!CAME HOME HAD A NICE SUPPER, WATCHED SOME TV AND CALLED IT A NITE.

MON- HAVE AN 8:00 APPT AT THE CLINIC, THOUGHT IT WOULD BE A PIECE OF CAKE AND THE FIRST THING THEY DID WAS TAKE MY TEMP AND IT WAS 100.2, SO HERE WE GO. I HAD AN ANTIBIOTIC IV& SALINE IV WITH PHOS. I GO BACK TO THE HOSPITAL AT 3 FOR PLATELETS.I WILL HAVE TO HAVE THE IV ANITIBIOTIC FOR 10 DAYS AT HOME. BUT THEY ARE GOING TO GO AHEAD WITH THE TREATMENT TOMORROW, SO THEY SAY. NOW YOU ALL HAVE TO BE CONFUSED BECAUSE I SURE AM.

LETS FINISH TUES NIGHT-KIRKS GOT HERE ALL SAFE AND SOUND, WE PLAYED, ATE THEN CALLED IT A NIGHT.

WED- BRIAN AND I WENT TO CLINIC IN AFTERNOON. ACTUALLY SAW MY OWN DOCTOR, HE THOUGHT MY RASH WAS LOOKING BETTER, TOOK ME OFF ANOTHER MED THAT BRINGS DOWN WHITE CELLS, WENT DOWN 10 MG ON THE STEROID, SCHEDULED MY NEXT TREATMENT FOR MONDAY, HAD TO GO TO HOSPITAL( IN MY OWN ROOM AGAIN )TO GET PLATELETS. I WILL GO TO THE CANCER CLINIC EARLY MONDAY MORNING GET TREATMENT #2 IT WILL TAKE A COUPLE OF HOURS THEN THEY KEEP ME 4 MORE HOURS FOR OBSERVATION, THEN I GO TO HOSPITAL FOR MORE PLATELETS SO I CAN HAVE THE SPINAL TAP ON TUESDAY MORNING. THEY DRAW FLUID THEN PUT CHEMO IN THE SPINE TO MAKE SURE THERE IS NOTHING IN THE SPINE OR BRAIN. FINALLY GOT DONE WITH ALL OF THAT AND WENT TO COY AND HANNAHS FOR SUPPER AND TO HANG OUT WITH KIRKS.

THURS- BACK TO COYS TO HANG WITH THE FAMILY THEN OVER TO JEFFS FOR SUPPER AND TO WATCH THE BRONCO GAME. THE KIDS ARE HAVING A BLAST TOGETHER, I HOPE WE CAN GET SOME PICTURE ON THE BLOG THIS WEEKEND SO YOU CAN ALL SEE HOW BIG THEY ARE GETTING.

WE HAD A LITTLE GRILLED CHEEZ AND WHAT EVER ELSE WE COULD FIND IN THE FRIDGE, THEN CAME EVENING AND THEY ALL LEFT US.

SUNDAY WE MET ALL MET BACK UP FOR BRUNCH, WE GOT TRACIE OFF TO THE AIRPORT, TINA OFF TO THE BRONCO GAME, JEFF AND BOYS HOME FOR A NAP BEFORE WATCHING THE BRONCO GAME ON TV, COY, HANNAH AND LUKE HOME TO VEG AND WATCH THE GAME AND BRIAN AND I HAD TO HIT TARGET TO REPLENISH THE FRIDGE AND GET PICTURES DEVELOPED. SHOPPING IS BRIANS MOST FAVORITE THING AND WE HAD TO HIT RUSH HR AT SUPER TARGET TO BOOT OOPS. WORKED ON LAUNDRY AND WATCHED THE GAME.

MONDAY- WENT TO CLINIC, MY WHITE COUNT IS STILL ALMOST NOTHING, THEY ARE PLEASED WITH THAT, WE WILL SEE WHEN THEY START TO GROW BACK IF THEY ARE GOOD OR BAD. FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY I HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS, YESTERDAY THE DOCOTOR SAID THAT THERE WERE NO "BLASTS" MEANING NO CANCER CELLS WERE MADE BUT SOME WERE KILLED. I HAVE NO IDEA HOW MANY, SCARED TO ASK TOO MANY QUESTIONS OR HOPE FOR TOO MUCH. SO IT LOOKS LIKE THE TREATMENT IS WORKING TO SOME DEGREE. I HAVE AN APPOINTMENT AT THE CLINIC ON MONDAY WE WILL SEE HOW THINGS LOOK THERE. I GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL FRIDAY AT 11:00, SO NICE TO BE BACK AT THE APARTMENT. COY CAME OVER AND HAD LUNCH WITH US. THEN BRIAN AND I JUST HUNG OUT FOR THE REST OF THE DAY.

THE DOCTORS HAD GOOD THINGS TO SAY YESTERDAY, RASH LOOKS BETTER, ALL FUNCTIONS ARE GOOD SO WE WILL SEE WHAT THEY HAVE TO SAY TODAY. THE NURSE WAS WANTING TO KNOW THIS AM IF I COULD BE READY TO LEAVE TOMORROW BY NOON, I TOLD HER I COULD AND WOULD BE READY BY NOON TODAY!!!! I DID HAVE TO HAVE 2 UNITS OF BLOOD THIS AM. ALL OF MY NUMBERS WILL CONTINUE TO DROP SO WILL HAVE TO EXTRA CAREFUL NOT TO GET ANY UNWANTED GERMS. MY WHITE CELL WENT DOWN SO THATS A GOOD SIGN.

THURS- BRIAN AND I BABYSIT LITTLE LUKE, UNCLE BRIAN DID MOST OF THE WORK, LUKE WAS A SNUGGLE BUG AND WENT RIGHT TO BED AFTER SOME PLAY TIME. SO NOT A LOT OF WORK THERE. MOM AND KAYLA GOT HERE, SO NICE TO HAVE THEM HERE SAFE.

FRI- MOM AND I WENT TO HOSPITAL AT 9:30 TO GET 2 UNITS OF BLOOD THAT TOOK TOOK UNTIL 1:30. THEN BRIAN AND KAYLA MET US AT THE CLINIC FOR THE DOCTORS APPOINTMENT. 80% OF THE CANCER IS BACK, I WILL BE GOING INTO THE HOSPITAL ON MONDAY TO TRY A NEW DRUG, MONDAY WILL BE A PREP DAY, TUES GET THE DRUG AND POSSIBLE OUT BY FRIDAY. WOW HOWS THAT FOR NEWS. WE WERE ABLE TO TAKE OUR MINDS OFF THINGS BY WATCHING LUKE AGAIN THAT NITE SO COY COULD TAKE HANNAH THE B-DAY GIRL(BIG 30) TO SUPPER.

SAT- WE MET COYS AND JEFFS AT THE CHEESECAKE FACTORY FOR LUNCH FOR HANNAHS B-DAY AND WALKED AROUND THE 16TH STREET MALL. LATER WE WENT TO CHURCH WITH COY AND HANNAH TO LISTEN TO HANNAH SING, COYS CHURCH GROUP HAD A SURPRISE PARTY FOR HER SO WE WATCHED LUKE, JEFFS CAME OVER AND HUNG OUT WITH US. WE SPENT TO NITE AND HAD A GREAT TIME. THE LITTLE ONES WERE SOOOO CUTE.

THE SUN IS SHINING,ITS A LITTLE BRISK BUT LOOKS LIKE IT IS GOING TO BE A NICE DAY. I STARTED THE DAY OUT STARTING SOME LAUNDRY, I HAD SOME SOAP IN THE CAR THAT I WANTED TO USE SO I TOOK OUT SOME TRASH, GRABBED THE SOAP (7:30 AM) AND HEADED BACK, WELL I FORGOT MY KEY TO THE OUTSIDE DOOR AND THERE I WAS,HANDS FULL AND COLD. LUCKY FOR FOR ME ONE OF THE WORKERS WAS IN THE OFFICE AND LET ME IN WHILE DOING SO SHE LOCKED HERSELF OUT OF THE OFFICE, SO SHE CAME TO THE APARMENT AND HUNG OUT TIL THE OTHER WORKERS STARTED COMING TO WORK. INTERESTING WAY TO START THE DAY HUH? MOM AND KAYLA ARE COMING TO SEE US SO WE ARE GETTING READY FOR THEM!!!! I COME DOWN AND PLAY ON THE COMPUTER AND BRIAN CLEANS, CANT BEAT A DEAL LIKE THAT!!! WE ARE GOING TO COY AND HANNAHS TONITE TO WATCH LUKE FOR A FEW HOURS.

YESTERDAY WAS A LONG DAY BUT MADE IT THRU. THE BONE BIOPSY WENT WELL, THE WORST PART WERE THE FOUR SKIN BIOPSYS, ONE GAL WAS CUTTING THEM OUT AND THE OTHER STITCHING THEM UP AND 2 NURSES ASSISTING, IT WENT ALOT FASTER THAT WAY. THEY KEPT ME NICE A COMFORTABLE WITH DRUGS!!

I GOT A PHONE CALL EARLY THIS AM FROM THE CLINIC AND THEY FORGOT TO TELL ME YESTERDAY TO DECREASE MY STEROID BY 20 MG!!!!! THATS GOOD NEWS.

WE ARE HEADED BACK TO CLINIC AT 2:00, WILL HAVE BONE BIOPSY AND WAS INFORMED THAT I WILL BE HAVING A FEW SKIN BIOPSYS ALSO, MAYBE WE WILL GET TO THE BOTTON OF THE RASH SITUATION! LOOKS LIKE TOMORROW MAY NEED TO BE A REST DAY HUH?

EARLY MONDAY MORNING OFF TO THE CLINIC WE GO, GOT SOME BLOOD DRAWN,(I HAVE TO GO IN EARLY WED FOR A BLOOD TEST BECAUSE THEY ARE PRETTY SURE I WILL NEED PLATELETS AGAIN SO WILL GET THAT DONE BEFORE BIOPSY) TALKED MY NURSE INTO FLUSHING SOME WAX OUT OF MY EARS (BARB ARENT YOU GLAD YOU DIDNT HAVE TO DO THAT), THE NURSE PRACTITIONER CAME IN CHECKED ME OVER, TALKED RASH AND CAME HOME. I WILL BE SEEING THE SAME NURSE ON WED SO MAYBE WE CAN GET A HANDLE ON THE RASH, I HAVE SO MANY DIFFERENT PEOPLE LOOKING AT IT EACH TIME I GO THAT NO ONE EVER SEES IT TWICE SO NO ONE REALLY KNOWS WHATS GOING ON. LETS START WITH FRIDAY- MY FRIEND LOUISE CAME TO SEE US, SHE GOT HERE AT 7 AM, WE WENT TO CLINIC AT 8, SHE AND I WENT TO TARGET, CAME BACK HAD LUNCH WITH BRIAN, WATCHED THE PINK TIGER VIDEO(STILLL NOT A DRY EYE) LOOKED AT PHOTOS AND GOT READY TO GO OUT FOR DINNER.COY WENT WITH US. WE HAD A GREAT DINNER, GOT HOME AND ROOKIE DIABETIC BRENDA GAVE HERSELF TOO MUCH INSULIN SO HAD TO GO TO HOSPITAL TO MAKE SURE ALL WAS OKAY AND IT WAS.SO WE CAME BACK AND WATCHED A MOVIE. I MADE EVERYONE PRETTY NERVOUS, I AM CAUSING ALOT OF PEOPLE ALOT OF GREY HAIR, GOOD THING I DONT HAVE ANY.HAHA.

SAT- WE TOOK LOUISE TO THE CHEESE CAKE FACTORY FOR LUNCH, THEN SHE LEFT US. JEFF CAME OVER AND SPENT THE EVENING WITH US.

SUN- WE WERE GOING TO WALK AROUND THE CITY PARK, GOT READY TO GO AND ALL THESE RUNNERS STARTED RUNNING BY, I MEAN ALOT OF PEOPLE!! SO WE JUST JOINED IN (ON THE SIDEWALK OF COURSE) WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF A MARATHON, IT WAS PRETTY COOL. WE ENDED UP WALKING 6 MILES. AT THE PARK I SAW MY FIRST HOMELESS PERSON PLANTED UNDER A BIG TREE, THEY (BRIAN THINKS THERE WERE 2 PEOPLE UNDER THE COMFORTER) WERE ALL COVERED UP, HAD A CAN OF SOUP, 5 GALLON BUCKET, BOTTLED WATER,SHOES, THEIR PIECE OF CARDBOARD (DIDNT SEE WHAT IT SAID)AND OF COURSE AN EMPTY BOTTLE OF BUZZ LAYING NEXT TO THEM. WE ARE NOW AT COYS WATCHING FOOTBALL AND CATCHING UP ON THE COMPUTER, HE EVEN FED US SUPPER. HANNAH AND LUKE ARE IN IOWA SO WE ARE KEEPING HIM COMPANY.

CAN YOU BELIEVE ITS THURSDAY ALREADY? WE THOUGHT WE WERE GOING TO HAVE A SEMI-SLOW DAY BUT THE DAY IS ALMOST GONE AND WE ARE STILL GOING. STARTED OUT WITH THE PUVA TREATMENT, WHICH WE ARE GOING TO STOP FOR AWHILE. NEED TO MAKE SURE I AM NOT HAVING A DRUG REACTION(I HAVE TO TAKE PILLS TO INCREASE THE EFFECT OF THE SUN BEFORE TREATMENT), ALSO YESTERDAY THE DOCTOR PUT ME ON ANOTHER PILL TO LOWER MY WHITE BLOOD CELLS AND DECREASED THE STEROID BY 10 MG SO LETS HOPE TO HEAVENS THAT THEY WILL ALL PLAY NICE TOGETHER. I READ IN MY DISCHARGE PAPERS THAT THEY WANTED TO TAPER OFF THE PREDNISONE EVERY WEEK AND ITS BEEN A MONTH SO I REALLY NEED OFF THE STUFF SO MY DONOR CAN TAKE OVER, BUT I HAVE TO BE ON IT BECAUSE THE CANCER KEEPS GROWING AND THE DONOR CANT DO BOTH, BUILD NEW CELLS AND FIGHT THE CANCER. WOW WHAT A TANGLED WEB.

MY FRIEND DEBBIE IS SUPPOSE TO HAVE HER TRANSPLANT TODAY, WE SAW HER YESTERDAY SHE LOOKS GOOD. TODAY KATHY AND RICK ARE COMING OVER TO THE APARTMENT TO VISTIT US SO WE WILL GET THE SCOOP ON HOW SHE IS DOING.

JUST GOT BACK FROM THE CLINIC, NOTHING TOO EXCITING. EVERYONE HAS A DIFFERENT IDEA ABOUT THE RASH. I SAW A NURSE PRACTITIONER THAT DIDNT KNOW TOO MUCH, SHE CONTACTED MY DR. THEY ARE PUTTING ME ON ANOTHER MED TO HELP WITH THE GVH AND THAT ALSO ALLOWED THEM TO GO DOWN ON THE PREDNISONE 20 MG. I HAVE TO GO BACK TO THE HOSPITAL AT 2:30 FOR PLATELETS AND I WILL THEN STOP IN TO SEE DEBBIE, SHE HAS HER TRANSPLANT TOMORROW.

THE SUN IS SHINING BRIGHTLY BUT STILL A LITTLE CHILL IN THE AIR, PERFECT FOR WALKING.
TOMORROW IS MY PUVA TREATMENT THEN BACK TO CLINIC ON FRIDAY AND THERE WE ARE ANOTHER WEEK GONE. JUST GOT OFF THE PHONE WITH JEFF HE AND HIS FAMILY ARE STILL SICK WITH COLDS, COY STAYED HOME MONDAY SICK SO WE HAVENT BEEN AROUND THEM EITHER.

IT RAINS HERE A LITTLE BUT LUCKILY NO SNOW. WE HAVE STILL BEEN ABLE TO WALK WHEN WE NEED TOO. TODAY HAS BEEN OUR GET PAPER WORK ETC. DONE, TAKE A WALK AND NOW GETTING READY TO EAT AND YES BRIAN IS DOING ALOT OF THE COOKING AND IT IS VERY GOOD! THEN OFF TO THE COUCH I WILL PROBABLY GO TO START TALKING ON THE PHONE AND WATCHING DANCING WITH THE STARS.

WE RAN INTO STACI AND WADE, THEY ARE DOING GOOD. STACI HAD JUST HAD A BONE BIOPSY SO THEY WILL KNOW HOW THINGS ARE GOING BY THE END OF THE WEEK. TALKED TO DEBBIE SHE HAS HER TRANSPLANT ON THURSDAY SO WE HOPE TO MAKE IT OVER TO SEE HER TOMORROW AFTER MY APPOINTMENT. DEBBIE SAID SHE HAD TALKED TO KATY AND THEY HAD GOTTEN GOOD NEWS SO NEED TO CALL HER AND SEE WHAT THAT WAS. AND ME I AM HANGIN TOUGH!!

GOOD AFTERNOON EVERYONE,

WOW WHERE DO WE START. OUR WEEKEND WENT SO FAST. SAT WE GOT UP HAD A NICE BIG LATE BREAKFAST, WATCHED SOME TV, DID SOME RUNNING AROUND GOT HOME HAD DESSERT WHILE SUPPER WAS FINISHING THEN PLUGGED IN OUR PINK TIGER DVD AND CRIED LIKE LITTLE BABIES. HOW VERY SPECIAL YOU ALL MADE IT, JUST TO SEE EVERYONE AND HOME WAS UNBELIEVABLE I STILL CANT BELIEVE THAT IT WAS ALL FOR ME, YOU ARE ALL HELPING SO MUCH TO MAKE THIS MORE BEARABLE.WE ARE STILL TRYING TO READ THE ENTIRE CARD. WE HUNG IT ON THE WALL SO I CAN LOOK AT IT EVERYDAY. THEN WE MADE THE BOYS WATCH A NOT SO GOOD CHICK FLICK. THEN SUNDAY CAME ALL TOO FAST AND THE WEATHER WAS BAD AT HOME SO WE GOT KAYLA AND RICK ON THE ROAD BY 9:30, THEY DIDNT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS THANK GOODNESS. WE GOT THEM ON THE ROAD AND TOOK A 3 MILE WALK DOWN 18TH ST.AND BACK. HAD SOME BREAKFAST, DID LAUNDRY, SOME CLEANING AND GOT READY TO WATCH THE BRONCOS.

TODAY WE HAD CLINIC, BLOOD COUNTS WERE OKAY, THE DR TALKED ABOUT THE NEXT BONE BIOPSY ON THE 22ND WHERE WE SEE WHERE WE REALLY STAND, BUT THEY DONT THINK THIS CHEMO IS WORKING WELL, AND OPTION 2 THAT WE WANTED I CANT HAVE BECAUSE I HAVE HAD AN ALLO TRANSPLANT, SO OPTION 3 BETTER BE THE ONE. WE LEFT CLINIC HEADED FOR APT HAD SOME LUNCH SO I COULD TAKE MY "TANNING PILL", THEN AT 2 WE WENT FOR THAT TREATMENT, NOW WAS LUCKY ENOUGH TO GET ON THE COMPUTER AND PLAY CATCH UP. WE DONT HAVE ANYTHING SCHEDULED FOR TOMORROW SO WILL CATCH UP ON THING AROUND HERE.

THE RASH SEEMS TO BE THE SAME, THE SKIN BIOPSY SHOWED THAT IT MAY A LITTLE DRUG REACTION BUT NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT AND TO CONTINUE WITH TREATMENT. I HAVE MY NEXT BONE BIOPSY ON THE 22ND SO THAT WILL BE OUR REAL TEST. WE THEN WENT HOME TO FIND THAT SOMEONE LEFT US LUNCH, SO WE ATE IT UP.

TROY AND TAMMY JENSEN (AND KIDS) CAME BY TO SEE US, IT WAS SO GOOD TO SEE THEM.

WE ARE NOW AT COY AND HANNAHS, COY IS PUTTING SOME IOWA PORK CHOPS ON THE GRILL FOR US. LUKE IS BEING EXTRA CUTE AND SHOWING US HOW HE CAN ROLL AROUND, SIT UP AND HANG OUT ON ALL FOURS. HOW FUN IT IS TO WATCH. AND NOT TO MENTION LOTS AND LOTS OF SMILES!!! AFTER SUPPER WE ARE GOING TO WATCH A DVD THAT HAS BEEN SENT TO ME FROM HOME OF THE PINK TIGERS WALK, CANT WAIT TO SEE EVERYONE. WE ARE BACK FROM THE TANNING TREATMENT, WE LEFT FEELING A LITTLE BETTER, I SAW THE DERMATOLOGIST(THAT IS WHERE I HAVE THE TREATMENTS) AND HE SEEMS TO THINK THAT THINGS ARE FINE JUST THAT MY SKIN IS A LITTLE SENSITIVE, CANT WAIT TO SEE WHAT THE DOCTOR SAYS TOMORROW. BRIAN AND I HAVE TO VISIT THE DRUG STORE/LIQUOR STORE FOR SOME RASH CREAM AND IT IS ALSO ON COLFAX SO FIGURE. THERE IS NEVER A DULL MOMENT. I HOPE TO GET ON THE COMPUTER TOMORROW AND LET YOU KNOW.

FINALLY AM HOME FROM APPT WE HAD A 2:00 TODAY. I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT MY NUMBERS ARE, WE GOT THERE AND THEY WERE MORE INTERESTED IN MY RASH. THE DOCTOR THINKS ITS GVHD AND THE NURSE PRACTITIONER THINKS ITS FROM THE MEDS I TAKE BEFORE MY PUVA TREATMENT, SO THEY TOOK A SKIN BIOPSY TO KNOW FOR SURE. AND GUESS WHAT THEY STILL CANT NOT FIND ALL OF THE RESULTS FROM THE TRANSPLANT. I AM STILL MAKING CANCER CELLS, THE CHEMO I HAD IS A SLOWER ACTING TREATMENT SO THEY DONT KNOW IF I AM NOT RESPONDING OR ITS GOING TO BE SLOW, STILL NO NEWS. I AM PRETTY SURE I WILL BE CRAZY BEFORE ITS OVER.

TOMORROW IS PUVA AT 10:00 THEN WE HAVE TO STAY INSIDE UNTIL THE SUN GOES DOWN, WE WILL BE DOING LAUNDRY AND WAITING FOR KAYLA AND MY FRIEND RICK TO COME AND SEE US. THE WEATHER MIGHT TURN COLD FOR THE WEEKEND, BUT WILL STILL BE NICE TO SEE FAMILY AND FRIENDS FROM HOME.

WE ARE BACK FROM THE PUVA TREATMENT, THEY THINK THE WELTS MAY BE FROM THE TREATMENT SO THEY BACKED OFF A LITTLE ON IT TODAY. SO IT REALLY DIDNT TAKE VERY LONG. TODAY WILL BE A CATCH UP DAY AT THE APARTMENT. I HAD A NURSE CALL FROM THE CANCER CLINIC, THEY ARE STILL TRYING TO FIND ALL OF MY TEST RESULTS,SO MAYBE TOMORROW THEY WILL REALLY HAVE SOMETHING TO TELL US.

LAST NITES SUPPER WAS GREAT, WE MET A NEW MOM AND SON FROM FT. COLLINS. THEY SENT HOME LEFTOVERS SO BRIAN CAN HAVE THAT FOR LUNCH TODAY. I AM HOOKED ON COLD CUT SANDS FOR LUNCH.

HAPPY MONDAY, WE ARE FINALLY BACK FROM APPOINTMENTS. MY 10:00 CLINIC LASTED TIL ALMOST NOON AND I STILL KNOW NOTHING THEY ASSURE IS ON WEDNESDAY THEY WILL HAVE THE RESULTS WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR, NOT SURE WE NEED TO KNOW AS WE ALREADY KNOW THE TRANSPLANT WAS NOT A COMPLETE SUCCESS. THEN WE MADE OUR WAY OVER TO THE HOSPITAL TO GET SOME PLATELETS, FIRST TRANSFUSION, SO THATS GOOD. I WILL HAVE ANOTHER BONE BIOPSY IN A COUPLE OF WEEKS THAT WILL TELL IF THIS CHEMO IS WORKING. ALSO WILL HAVE ANOTHER SPINAL TAP TO MAKE SURE THERE ARE NO CANCER CELLS IN SPINE OR BRAIN. THE RASH SEEMS TO BE STABLE, THEY THOUGHT IT LOOKS THE WAY IS DOES BECAUSE OF THE PUVA TREATMENTS, TIME WILL TELL THERE ALSO. SO SORRY I DONT KNOW MORE BUT THOUGHT I WOULD CHECK IN.

TONITE IS FAMILY NITE AT BRENTS AND THE GIRLS JUST TOLD ME THAT THE OLIVE GARDEN IS THE ONE PROVIDING SUPPER TONITE, THAT SHOULD BE GOOD!!! NICE NOT TO HAVE TO COOK AGAIN TONITE. ALTHOUGH BRIAN IS DOING A GREAT JOB OF COOKING, AND CARING FOR ME. COY GRILLED STEAKS LAST NITE SO WE ARE DOING WELL.

WE GOT UP THIS AM AND MY RASH ON MY HANDS LOOKED MORE LIKE WELTS SO WE WALKED TO THE CLINIC TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING WAS OK AND THE DR SEEMS TO THINK IT IS FROM MY PUVA (SUNTANNING BED) TREATMENT. WE WILL SEE TOMORROW WHAT THEY SAY.

YESTERDAY COUSIN MIKE AND GIRLFRIEND ROBIN TOOK US TO THE 16TH STREET MALL AND CHEESE CAKE FACTORY FOR LUNCH, IT WAS SOOOOO GOOD. KRISIT FERDERER AND COUSIN JENNY MET US THERE, SO GOOD TO SEE THEM. FUN WAS HAD BY ALL. DOWN TOWN IS VERY INTERESTING YOU ARE LIKELY TO SEE ANY AND EVERYTHING. THEY TOOK US HOME WHERE WE RETIRED FOR THE EVENING, I ACTUALLY GOT SOME PICTURES WRITTEN ON.

I CANT NOT BE IN THE SUN THE ENTIRE DAY THAT I HAVE THAT TREATMENT, ITS PRETTY INTERESTING TO SEE ME ALL WRAPPED UP GETTING TO MY APPT. I DO HAVE PICTURES THAT I WILL SHARE WITH YOU.
THRU-WAS MY DOWN DAY, GOT UP LATE AND TOOK IT EASY THE REST OF THE DAY.

Hi. Just alittle note to let everyone know she's doing well , just hasn't gotten close to a computer for a couple of days. The rash treatment didn't take as long as getting all garbed up to go. She can not be exposed to any sun after she takes the pill so it sounds like all she needs is her on shopping cart and she would fit right in with alot of the neighborhood. Brian must take a picture !! Tomorrow she has her Dr. appt. and the rash treatment so will have a busy day. Not much else going on ( how wonderful is that) . Today she rested most of the day sounds like she had gotten alittle wore down. Hopefully tomorrow will be equally as uneventful and she just keeps doing well and feeling well. HI ITS ME AGAIN,

WE'VE HAD A BUSY DAY, WE GOT HOME LATE FROM JEFFS LAST NITE SO WE SLEPT IN THIS AM, DID SOME LAUNDRY AND STOPPED BY THE PHARMACY/LIQUOR STORE FOR MY DRUGS TO START THE UV TREATMENT. HANNAH INVITED US OVER FOR SUPPER, WE WENT TO WALMART AND SPORTS AUTHORITY, PLAYED WITH LUKE AND CAME HOME. TOMORROW OUR APPT IS AT 7:30 AM SO WE BETTER GET TO BED AT A DECENT HOUR. TREVOR THE 18 YR OLDS TRANSPLANT CAME BACK 99%, SO PLEASE LET THE GOOD NEWS KEEP COMING, WE ALREADY KNOW MINE IS NOT THAT GOOD BUT HOPEFULLY BETTER THEN WE THINK.

CAN YOU BELIEVE WE WENT TO THE PUBLIC LIBRARY IN DOWN TOWN DENVER AND COULD ONLY GET ON THE COMPUTER FOR 30 MIN AFTER WAITING 45 TO GET ON. JEFF AND TINA HAD INVITED US OVER FOR SUPPER SO WE GOT HERE EARLY SO THAT GAVE ME SOME COMPUTER TIME BEFORE TINA GETS HERE WITH THE BOYS AND COYS GET HERE. THE COMPUTERS AT BRENTS PLACE ARE GONE NOW TOO, THE BUILDING SOLD AND THEY HAVE MOVED OUT, NOT SURE WHAT I'M GOING TO DO.

WE WENT TO CLINIC THIS AM, HAD MY LAST CHEMO TREATMENT. THEN WENT TO "TANNING BED" TREATMENT APPT, I COULDNT GET STARTED TODAY BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO TAKE THIS MEDICINE BEFORE AND NOT EVERY PHARMACY CARRIES IT, MAYBE TOMORROW. THEY SAY TO EAT BEFORE YOU TAKE IT BECAUSE IT DOES MAKE YOU SICK TO YOUR STOMACH. WE WALKED BACK TO APT HAD SOME LUNCH THEN HEADED TO THE LIBRARY, NOW AT JEFFS.

STACI DID NOT HAVE THE KIDNEY STONE IT WAS HERE HUSBAND WADE, SO HIS MOM IS HERE TAKING CARE OF ALL OF THEM. I NEED TO CALL AND CHECK ON THEM. STACI IS STILL DOING GOOD, SO WAS TIRED AFTER THE WALK, BUT REALLY ENJOYED IT. WE ENDED UP GOING OUT TO SUPPER WITH LESLIE (THE 18 YR OLD PATIENT WE'VE GOTTEN TO KNOW) AND FAMILY, SO STILL GOT OUT OF COOKING. BRIAN IS DOING A GREAT JOB OF TAKING CARE OF ME, BUT YES I MISS MY MOM TOO. I JUST MISS EVERYONE!!!! WE ARE GOING TO DO THIS I JUST KNOW IT, I AM DOING ALL THAT I CAN TO MAKE IT HAPPEN.

Hi. She got her 4th. chemo today, still doing good. Was to go to little "Stacie's" today for lunch, she was so excited to get to spend time with her on her own turf instead of the hospital BUT as it ended up Stacie is back in the hospital with kidney stones. Can't believe it she was doing so well , this is where I start FEELING ANGRY they have gone thro so much,they just get to be better for alittle time when something new just levels them again. Just pray this doesn't take her back down as she is so fragile. Think the kids just had kind of a peaceful day and hopefully she rested, she does great but does tire easily. Well here's to a new and hopefully IMPROVED week!! Love to all chick

Hello. Sounds as if she has just been a busy little bee today. Chemo number 3 was at 8:00 this morn. Vicky and her cousin left, they went grocery shopping, and Kayla's best friend came and spent the day with them. Treatments are still going very well,KNOCK ON WOOD only 2 more to go for this month. This week she will spend some time in a special kind of tanning ( like) bed for her rash hope that will be the answer for that. Will keep posting until she gets to Coy"s and can do it herself, she misses doing her own and getting to read her comments its so awesome to have that daily contact with home!!! Fri. sept 26

Hi. Will just drop a few lines and give you an update. Brenda received her 2nd. new chemo treatment and is getting along very well with it, no sickness at all so far. Said she had some sore feet today tho, she couldn't get her tennis shoes on so she did her 3 mile walk in her BIG clogs!!! She thought it was worth it all as the night was such an uplifting experience as was hearing of night at home!! Has to be at the clinic in the morning at 8:00 for #3. Dr. informed her today her numbers will plummet again so won't be able to come home until they build back up. We can live with that as long as this works... Have a wonderful & safe weekend. Our Tough Tigers

Good morning everyone, just wanted to post some pictures for you all. It was a beautiful night in Denver last night and so awesome to see the night lit up with balloons of some many!! We made a banner to represent our team, I don't have a super close up, but wanted to tell everyone what was on it. It says "Tigers are tough, Tigers are mean, they fight a disease that cannot be seen, but don't be fooled by their name Pink Tigers, cuz these ladies are tough, they're real fighters." There were 9 paw prints across the banner, representing chick her sons and the wives and across the bottom were the handprints of little kids in our fam, and the hands said "hands down, our aunt sissy is the toughest in town" What a night. What an honor it was to walk for 4 special women and especially Brenda, and what a woman she is, that walk got kind of long, and she was speed walking it the whole time:) Enjoy the photos, thanks for all the donations. Sept25 Thurs.

What an awesome evening!!! What tribute to Brenda and her PINK TIGERS. For all of you who took the time to put this together and make it such a success pat yourself on the backs for the job well done.. Can't wait for her to see the pictures she's going to love it. The Denver walk turned out great as well . Brenda of course made the walk with the company of her brothers,Brian, Jeff, & Coy as well as her little organizer sister Hannah,three most precious nephews & Jeff,s in-laws joined in along with Vickie and her cousin. That far from home and to have so many, who could ask for more. As for the other gals, Debbie back out of the hospital and made the walk(her parents there to walk with her). Stacie made the round with her husband and twin boys. Kathy got to come but to weak to walk so spent the night in the car but still got to be there at least and have pictures and be alittle part of it all. This is the first time they have been together outside the hospital I do believe they got to experience a true ROCKY MOUNTAIN HIGH!!!!! If LOVE could be her cure, she would be on her way home now, as tonight you could feel it everywhere. How lucky and blessed she is to have all of you as her friends,& family, and to live in such a loving and giving community. God bless and love each and everyone of you. chick

Hi. Tonight we are trying to regroup and start over I guess. They gave us some very bleak news, but will try a new treatment and will start it in the morning, this will be a 5day treatment once a month at this time they have a gentleman on it and doing well with no bad side effects, only somewhat tired immediately afterwards. She thinks if possible after the 5 days, HOME for awhile would be alot of what she really needs, it's already been 2 months. Whatever it takes ,WE WILL NOT GIVE UP!!!!! Hope we can get alot of pictures of all the PINK TIGERS tomorrow night,she loves her pictures and will so be looking forward to seeing them. Hi. I"m kinda slow posting but actually we are on Dr. time today ,the kids waited all day just to be told to wait until her Dr. appointment tomorrow morn. and the Dr. will talk them through this then hopefully we will know where we are and where we are going. Made for a long ole day!!!This was one of the bumps in the road that leaves you kind of spinning out of control but guess we'll dust ourselves off and see if we can find those BIG GIRL PANTIES and begin chapter 3 , plan B. Hello. Today has not turned out to be the day we had hoped for, her test results came back that the transplant has not been "totally successful". Tomorrow they will find out what the plan of attack will be. We are not yet totally informed of just what all the details are. I guess we are again left with HOPE,FAITH & COURAGE!! Maybe tomorrow when they find out just what is happening and with Brian along no stone will go unturned, again he is there when us girls just need someone to take over, anyway as I started out to say maybe Brenda will have a chance to let all of you know what they find out, otherwise I will . Thanks for caring and thanks for letting her know how much you care it has carried her over some very hard times over the last few months. Love to all chick

HELLO EVERYONE,

HAD A GREAT WEEKEND WITH EVERYONE AS MOM TOLD YOU. THIS WEEK IS NOT STARTING OUT AS WELL. MY RESULTS OF THE BONE BIOPSY CAME BACK NOT A TOTAL SUCCESS, THE DOCTORS WILL TAKE A DAY TO DISUSS WHAT TO DO NEXT AND CALL ME TOMORROW, SO WE STILL DONT KNOW FOR SURE WHAT IS GOING ON. SO KEEP UP THOSE HEAVY PRAYERS AND WE WILL KEEP FIGHTING!!!! MY RASH IS BETTER AND NUMBERS ARE STAYING GOOD SO THAT HAS TO BE A PLUS.

BRIAN AND I WENT TO DRS APPT, CAME HOME HAD LUNCH AND SPENT THE AFTERNOON ON THE COMPUTER CATCHING UP. WE JUST FINISHED HAVING DINNER AT BRENTS HOUSE, MONDAY NITES ARE FAMILY NITE WHERE ALL THE PEOPLE IN THE BUILDING COME TO MEET ONE ANOTHER. NOW WE HAVE TO GO WATCH DANCING WITH THE STARS.

Hi from home. Will leave a little message today until Brenda has excess to the Internet, the main house where she is able to use the computers is closed weekends. We had a busy but awesome weekend April & Connie came Fri. eve and Brian & Kayla came Sat. We all ended up at Coy's Sat nite and had birthday supper for Brian!!! What a nice evening , to be out of the hospital ,a nice meal and be surrounded by the people we love , what more could you ever want??? Brenda is doing as well as can be expected right now I guess with all the things going on. Nervously awaiting the results of the bone marrow test she had on Fri. Brian will stay with her until things are going well enough that she can go to Coy And Hannah's to finish out her 100 days. I came home today with Kayla and will attempt get back to work, thank God from boss's like mine. Keep your fingers crossed Brenda's results come back in her favor!!!And when they do again we have all of you to thank for the prayers and blessings we receive. Love to all Chick & Brenda

HI EVERYONE,

JUST A QUICK NOTE INBETWEEN APPTS. MY MORNING APPT WAS A LITTLE DISAPPOINTING, MY RASH IS GETTING WORSE (GRAPH VERSE HOST DISEASE) MY BODY AND THE NEW GUY ARE NOT GETTING ALONG REAL WELL SO THEY RAISED THE MG OF STEROID AGAIN AND GAVE ME ANOTHER PILL TO TAKE ALONG WITH IT. THEY WANT ME OFF THE STEROID AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, ITS TAKING A TOLL ON THE BONES AND MUSCLES ETC. I MEET WITH THE DIETICIAN FOR MY DIABETES BEFORE MY BIOPSY AT 2, CANT WAIT FOR THAT TO BE OVER. WE SHOULD HAVE SOME RESULTS EARLY NEXT WEEK ON THE BIOPSY THEN 7 TO 10 FOR THE OVERALL RESULTS.

YESTERDAY WAS A VERY LAZY DAY FOR ME, MOM KEPT BUSY WITH LAUNDRY, COOKING AND CLEANING. APRIL AND CONNIE ARE COMING TO SEE ME TONITE SO HOPEFULLY THAT WILL LIGHTEN THE MOOD.

TODAY AT MY APPT THEY DREW BLOOD AND ALL WAS WELL WITH THAT,I SAW THE NURSE PRACTIONER, WHILE SETTING THERE I STARTED THIS RASH THAT WE ARE WATCHING, I HAD IT IN THE HOSPITAL IT GOT REALLY BAD, PART OF THE GRAPH VERSE HOST DISEASE SO WE ARE WATCHING IT CLOSELY. WE WENT BY THE HOSPITAL TO SEE DEBBIE THEN MADE OUR WAY BACK TO THE APT FOR SOME LUNCH. NOW HERE AT BRENTS THEY ARE DELIVERING US SUPPER, THIS IS A REALLY NEAT PLACE, THEY REALLY SEEM TO BE LOOKING OUT FOR EVERYONE. NOT SURE WHAT IS IN STORE FOR TOMORROW, HOPEFULLY A NICE SMOOTH DAY OF RECOVERING!! TALK TO YOU ALL TOMORROW.

HI EVERYONE,

FINALLY GOT A CHANCE AT A COMPUTER, SO HERE WE GO. YESTERDAY WAS MY FIRST APPOINTMENT AT THE CANCER CLINIC AND ALL WENT WELL THANK GOODNESS. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I HAD SEEN MY OWN DOCTOR FOR A LONG TIME, IT TOOK HIM AWHILE TO GO THRU ALL THE PAPER WORK AND CATCH UP BUT LONG STORY SHORT HE SAID I LOOKED LIKE A MILLION BUCKS, NOW I KNOW HE DOESNT KNOW WHAT HE IS TALKING ABOUT, I AM PUFFED UP LIKE THE PILLSBURY DOUGH GIRL. BETWEEN PREDNISONE AND EXTRA FLUID YOU COULD ROLL ME DOWN THE HILL PRETTY FAST. HE DID LOWER THE DOSE OF THE PREDNISONE MY 10 MG SO HOPEFULLY THEY JUST KEEP DOING THAT EACH WEEK. I HAVE APPT EVERY MON-WED-FRI, THEY TAKE VITALS AND DRAW BLOOD TO CHECK MY NUMBERS. THIS FRIDAY IS MY BONE BIOPSY SO PRAY EXTRA HARD THAT WE GET GOOD NEWS WITH THAT.

I HAD TO RUN IN REAL QUICK FOR A BLOOD DRAW FOR THE ANTI-REJECTION MED THIS AM, THEN MOM AND I WENT OUT FOR BREAKFAST, GOT HOME COY, HANNAH AND LUKE CAME OVER FOR LUNCH THEN HANNAH TOOK US TO TARGET FOR SOME SUPPLIES. WE THEN RAN TO THE COMPUTERS WHERE WE ARE RUNNING OUT OF TIME, THEY ARE ABOUT TO CLOSE.

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR SUPPORTING THE PINK TIGERS!!!!WHAT A WONDERFUL THING YOU ARE ALL DOING. I REALLY DONT KNOW WHAT I'VE DONE TO HAVE SO MANY WONDERFUL PEOPLE IN MY LIFE, BUT I THANK GOD FOR YOU EVERYDAY!!! I KNOW I AM HEALING SO MUCH FASTER BECAUSE OF ALL OF YOU AND I CANT THANK YOU ENOUGH.

JEFF TOOK US TO GET GROC THAT NITE SO WE HAVE STUFF TO EAT AND EVERYTHING IN OUR NEW PLACE. WE SPENT THE DAY YESTERDAY GETTING ORGANIZED, MOM DID MORE COOKING AND CLEANING, WE HAD AN AWESOME SUPPER, WENT FOR A WALK TO FIND OUR ROUTE TO THE CLINIC AND SETTLED IN FOR THE NITE, EVEN WATCHED A MOVIE.

MY FRIEND KATHY GOT AWESOME NEWS THEY FIGURE HER GRAPH TOOK 99.6%.

Brent's Place

Chicken and Brenda, asked me (Hannah) to blog last night, but sorry I didn't get to it, as Coy and I are in Iowa and we were making a dash to the airport to pick up my brother. The girls made it to their new place. There is no wireless internet there, so they couldn't blog. Brother Jeff showed off his strong muscles and got them all moved in..... good work Jeff!! The girls were in the hospital until close to 5pm, so I think they were super anxious to get out of there. They had gone out for supper last night and then were headed to the store to get some supplies for home made meals. I know Brenda was requesting tacos!!! I bet she can't wait to eat Chicken's food, and I'm sure Chick is ready to be cooking again, she's so great at it! Can't you just picture those girls, being FREE!!!!! It's an awesome day. Please keep praying that things will go smoothly. We are very thankful for all of the support for everything. I grew up in a small town, similar to Sundance, in Iowa. Coy and I's high schools have the same school colors, same fight song/school song, we both won state championships in football the same year, so many neat similarities. Both towns have rallied and supported and loved people through good times and rough times. That's the awesome thing about small towns. Everyone knows everyone, and everyone loves to reach out and help the others. It makes us miss our small towns, we should move back to one, the problem is picking which one:)

Sept 11 thurs.

Hi. Slow again today but it's been school all day. I sure hope we don't have a written test tomorrow or they will take my daughter from me. This would have been a good day for her boss or co-workers to set with her I am sure the names of all that stuff would make more sense to them. I think we will be fine as she does not get that much of the (I'm seeing things and hearing things stuff ) now that things are going alittle more her way!!!!!!!So she is comfortable with doing this. We will be out and on our own tomorrow, feels so good but it is also alittle scary as now we are totally in control of all those meds as well we will even do a IV drip. Heck we can do it, and if not that's why we are for a couple weeks staying so close to the clinic. If it wouldn't have been for blood,and sticking people with needles I should have been a nurse.ha ha That's been our day. Hope this finds everyone well and hope to see you soon. Love to all chick

Hi everyone.
Wow. this day is moving alot faster than me. Met with the folks who have set her up at Brent's Place, Coy came and we went over together, it is going to work very well for her, they gave us quite a tour, now if I just remember where all to go (I get lost at home, imagine down here). She seems to feel some better today and dealing alot better with all the twist and turns she has be handed . Sundance, YOU ROCK. Maybe I can even walk with you that night I should be home!!! It goes without saying I love Brenda but to have our town honor the 3 other Pink Tigers whom I've come to Love as well truly makes me just one more time so very proud to call this home . Each of the 4 girls for sure all have their own special story but all dealing with this scary thing called leukemia, having each other to share their feelings and fears with and to know the other one knows exactly how it is and just has an understanding of things the rest of us can only imagine. Once again we have been blessed. Brenda & Stacie were admitted the same day, Stacie is so precious ,so fragile such a tiny tiny little gal and the mother of 9 yr.old twins Yes I could just steal them all . Her husband is one in a million besides caring for her and the boys he has a job, AND as well helps care for Stacie's mother who was struck with A.L.L. about a year ago. She received her transplant Aug.7 and after a few rough weeks is home doing awesome. Kathy came 1 week later , this gal is also someone very special, her most important things in life are her children, grandchildren & a wonderful husband who has not left her side in all these months. She was the first to receive a transplant and is well on the road to hopefully a full recovery. Debbie came a month later, she hates being so far behind as she doesn't want everyone leaving her here alone. She is to be so reassured we are all going to be here long enough to see her through the worst of it. She is from Aspen and has a 14 yr. girl and 12yr.boy and a very attentive husband who stays as well as her parents take turns. I know everyone would love these gals just as we do.. Hope this kind of gives you an idea of just who the Pink Tigers are Grrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Tues.Sept 9

Hello. My this day is getting away from us faster than we are getting stuff done, spent the a.m.with the diabetes's lady learned alot of stuff I guess we are ready (she is for sure, and of course she just did it all like she had done it forever) as for me I'm sure I can if I have to. This afternoon I will go to Brent's Place and check it out and see whats there and what we will need, as well find the easiest and fastest way to the clinic. Her spirits are wavering today, we just need one day they don't spring something new on her, she has continually taken everything like a champ but it does start to get overwhelming. Will keep you updated, until then have a GREAT day. And TO AUNT ALICE; Happy b-day!!! Hope it's the best one ever!! We are so going to have ONE-BIG b-day party when we get home as we are missing every ones!! Lots of Hugs & Love to everyone chick

Mon.Sept 8

Here it is afternoon already, Little slow getting the week started. She rested all morning, had a cat scan, X-rays, and learning the ropes to giving herself insulin shots!!! The extra fluids aren't willing leaving her body but the Dr. informed us this morn. it is more important to have healthy kidneys than overly attacking them to relieve the fat ankles and feet ( not to mention hands,face, belly,arms). I agree, we can deal with some swelling if we can keep her vital organs working proper. Did it frost at home??? It overcast and cold here. Can't believe its fall and back to school already. They are weaning her off I.V.'s and going pill form trying to get her ready to be an out patient. We are going to go to the half way house for a couple week, it is close to the clinic and she isn't stable enough right now that I feel safe being any further than that from a Dr. As well little Hannah has a baby as well to see to. This in the end will make everyone some what more comfortable. The rest of the week we will be schooled on so much, it makes me so nervous cause you have just got to get it right.. Will report back tomorrow, hope this finds everyone doing GREAT Love to all chick

Sun. Sept.7

Hi home!! Can't believe another Sun. has rolled around, and one more closer to , our old schedule, heading to grandma's for the day, can't wait , surely they miss us as much as we miss them. Ha Ha. Today she is kinda taking a back slide on energy, some of the side effects of some of the meds. are trying to test her abit, but after alittle rest again I think she will try for some fresh air and hopefully a place with no sunshine. She is kind of fighting getting discouraged with all the ups and downs but I know it won't beat her, when your body gets so tired it just wears on your state of mind as well. When they get this blood sugar worked out and they aren't bothering every hour will be a help towards getting the rest she needs. Will check in again tomorrow.. Hi. This will be short and sweet as she is on a roll today and they are going to let her go out side, and we are on a time limit as she still has the blood draw ever hour. So good to see her alittle back to normal. Who knows she might even have enough energy when get back to do some computer things!! So grateful to be having this day... HAPPY B-DAY KRISTY KAY.. Hi everyone. Friday again , here we are looking at a very fallish day , and we are just gearing up for spring & summer oh well there is next year. Brenda is doing well just dealing with being very tired and the repercussion of all the meds. We are now being schooled on out patient things as she will most likely get to go sometime next week. Seems unreal how one day you are hooked up to 5 or 6 I.V.'s and the next an out patient. Good for her is having had the job she has , as she is comfortable with drugs, naming them and knowing which is which, and what they do. That is just a stroke of luck for us!!!!!! Guess that's about all the news for today, hope this finds everyone well. Good luck bulldogs!!! Aloha Marlys & Frank have a blast and get home safe to us. Love to all chick

Light the Night

Hi Everyone, it's sister in law Hannah hacking into the blogspot... ha ha. I wanted to let everyone know about an awesome event coming to Denver. It is called Light the Night and it is a walk that raises money for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society. I am organizing a team to walk September 25 in Washington Park. The fun begins at 5 and the walk begins at 7. We know Brenda has spent a lot of years cheering on her brothers at many sporting events, and now she is involved in the "event" of her life and we thought this would be an awesome way to show her our support and cheer her on. If you are able to walk with us we would love it or if you want to support our team financially that would be great too. We have a team goal of raising $250. Hello! We are seemingly cruising right along, still dealing with the blood pressure,&high levels of blood sugar,but the up side is the GVH is being managed, getting rid of alot of fluid,her breathing is near normal and pain under control and she has her little chipper spunk back for atime but gets wore down very fast guess that is understandable when she has blood drawn every hour one the hour. There are just more good things happening right now than bad ,THANK YOU LORD!!! I want to believe we have successful made it over the biggest and worst of the bumps in the road.... I choose to believe this but yet never again let my guard down and not be prepared as things seem to change quickly. Sounds as if HOME may be preparing for frost on the punkins. I sure hope someone will have at least a few tomatoes, cukes &ears left when I get home. Just have to find a farmers market or something before I leave so Brenda can have her cukes in vinegar ( if her numbers allow) But she is up 1850 this a.m. Coy's took me out for supper, nice change. Had only had meat once since being here!!! Little Lukey just grows and gets cuter every day been so awesome to get to be around my 3 little grandsons. I really thought she would be up to doing this herself today but she thought maybe she would have more energy tomorrow. Either way have an awesome day and we'll be checking in again tomorrow. Wens.Sept.3

Hi everyone. Another day and she is hanging tight. Dealing with the extra fluid and high blood sugar. They are staying on it checking ever hour, therefore today she is very wore down. The really good news is she is steadily climbing in numbers today she has reached 1330, Yeah!!!!!! She may be able to see our little Luke this eve. that brings on one big SMILE and something to look forward to. if nothing else she can look at him through the family room door, even that's enough to brighten her day as he is such a little ray of sunshine!!(and not just because I'm grandma he really is). Wish there was more to report but no news is good news from this stand point. Love and thanks to everyone for hanging in there with us, I promise we couldn't have done it without you! Tues. Sept.2 part 2

Hi. Brenda has informed me not to use the word "great" anymore as when I do there is no room for improvement!!!!! She could be right,and at this point I'll do anything, so help me out if I blunder. So thankful for all things turning around and going in the right direction, although today she has developed a new condition BUT they are on it.. The steroid has side affects, which for her has been her sugar level going totally crazy she is up to 365 and you don't want it over 100. They are giving her insulin through the I.V. as well as more antibiotics as there is a high risk for infections. This SHE DOES NOT NEED. They have made us feel very confident, they can and will control this, and I do have faith in them, they have brought her along way and given her this precious second chance. The motto for leukemia patients as they wear on their bracelets is; Faith, Hope and Courage it amazes me in visiting with other patients and their caregivers how every conversation these words are just there, a part of what gets them to the next day and they see the light at the end of the tunnel. Sept.2 tues.

Hi. So far this day is everything we have been asking for! Last night went for the pain meds early. Slept but did alot of talking, and moving around. This morning is so awesome I'm about fly. Not only did her numbers double THEY TRIPLED!!! Her rash even better than yesterday. Blood pressure again high, probably due to the meds. that are to help the new cells make their home. This is a start, I couldn't wait to share so will report back later. I am going to the caregivers support group this a.m. maybe I can even share, their is light, at the end of the tunnel. Mon.Sept.1 part 2

Hi again. It's 10:30p.m. and she is holding her own, fighting the expected left overs of this round but seeing more smiles here and there. They have been able to get off enough fluid that she can breathe with out struggling. Tonight we just went for the pain pills before it got so out of hand, I so believe there are no medals to be won for suffering if they can give you something to help you out . Besides after this long week she is exhausted,and can rest if she is not hurting. For sure my hat is off to the staff at PSL they have treated her with such tender, loving care,they are for sure on top of the game in this field and they see some of everything,the compassion they show the patients is just heart warming. Tonight was one good example, as today Eva, Elvin,Marsha,Rob & Cole had been here to visit and it is so hard to have people leave when all you want to do is just go home (cause everything is just better at home)( and we like home)" back to the story" anyway just couldn't fight the tears, and felt alittle sad the rest of the day , a phone call from home tonight brought back more tears and our little nurse just wanted to fix her so bad, in the end she was crying to ,they are each and everyone someone I know will wear a special pair of wings when the day is done. For a short up date this got alittle long winded, Guess somethings never change, huh? Will be back in the morning, but probably not bright and early. Hope everyone had a fun safe weekend. Mon. Sept.1

Hello everyone! AM going to very cautiosly report Brenda has had a great morn. She rested well with alittle help, as she was suffering with the pain in her back which in a way is a good thing as that means the new cells are making their way and doing what they are suppose to!! We can deal with that, the results were her numbers had doubled from yesterday, and every number she gets means she will be that much more likely to fight off other illness and we will be on the not so bumpy road. I will report later and maybe Brenda will feel like blogging this evenin.

Hi. Did I mention the (She can turn on a dime) well once again she has. Seems she only rates a good day long enough to get us excited thinking we have one more thing behind her,and the positive aspect of that is I guess she does, she just dives off into the next bump in the road without warning.. Last eve she had so overcome all the obstacles she had dealt with through out the day. At midnight labs she was running a temp,and laboring for breath which was very scary for her , and she had once more turned fire engine red. Dr. came early , ordered her a steroid shot,& sent her to Xray. This afternoon she received her last chemo and something to help get rid of the water. I do believe the steroid shot may have been the ticket as her redness is fading, her eyes are back in her head, and her face takes on the resemblance of Brenda once again. Am so grateful things are better now but alittle afraid to think that this could be the end of the worst as I keep taking the wrong road I like the straight and narrow and she keeps taking the ole bumpy one with twists and turns. Her Xrays showed she did have fluid in her lungs., the steroid will also help with that. She was wanting us to ask "grandma" what to do cause she knows about everything!!!!! Believe me I was tempted to do just that . This is how she rest ,her mind never shuts down hopefully when she gets rid of some water and can catch a good breath she can have a peaceful and restful sleep. She did test positive for GVH but with the smallest of number this s a very good sign, and with the steroid shot it should keep it at bay It so feels like I am spreading doom gloom but this is how it is. If one more thing would have happened to day I was calling in the Wyo. troops. I remembered reading Kathy's blog someone had sent her this and reminded me "That God didn't promise days without pain , Laughter without sorrow, sun without rain . But he did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way. This has read so true for all these girls, and all that love them!. Will keep you informed!!!! And keep remembering we ARE ONE DAY CLOSER THAN WE WERE YESTERDAY!! Love to all chick

Hi Remember this computer stuff is very very new to me,well I wrote and sent a blog around 3:00p.m. Sent it and this thing told me I had successfully sent it,but it shows up no where, and even though Brenda is feeling soooooooooooooo much better this p.m. she just doesn't feel like messing with my doings. So if sometime somewhere this shows up we will have 2 for this day, therefore I will make a short summary of my ramblings early. She did not have a good night or a.m. but came back this afternoon to almost feeling human......... They have successfully kept her temp. down, the rash is so much better, they have kept control of the blood pressure but that medicine makes her heart race, and has shortness of breath . They have her on oxygen all the time now. With all that ,she truly is better than she was Tues.-Fri... Tomorrow she will take her last chemo. this they have given her Day +1-+3-+6 & +11 which is tomorrow. Due to her never being totally rid of cancer the first 3 rounds of chemo this is to make sure there are no sneaky little Brut's hanging out wondering where his buddies are, and interfering with her new cells. This is also the round that can and most generally does cause terrible mouth & throat sores, I so pray she can avoid this as she has taken extra precaution's with a rinse they provide. Cleo dropped by, finished Brenda's walk with her and reported Allan is on the mend, very tired, sore and uncomfortable,but pulling thro. Thank God for blessing the Roberts family. For any of you who might be interested , I am so excited to report both Kirk & Leigh had winning ball games for their opening season. Things are starting off right. And last but not least , we want to wish MARSHA a happy birthday and many many more... Won't tell how old she is BUT I was 16 this day back then.... Until tomorrow have a fun filled and extra safe weekend. Love to all chick
